Meeting Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)

London has been incredible for me. I ventured off by myself on Thursday    night and I've encountered lots of      friendly people along my way. Pat  Shortt and Daniel Radcliffe to name but a few.

         Outside the Noel Coward Theatre

At around 10:15 tonight I met  Daniel Radcliffe. I've been an avid  Harry Potter fan since 2001. His   performance today in  the Cripple of Innismaan was captivating and  so were the rest of the cast. It was  an incredible day.

Haul and video

Crop top from the Beyonce for H&M range

Hi guys, I´ve been on a little break from the internet for the last week or so as my family were visiting Madrid. It was a crazy week to say the least! A haul post was an easy way to get back into the swing of blogging. I  also recorded a haul video last week and I´ve added it to the end of this (picture heavy) post.

Easy to do eye make-up look - Sleek

I've been wearing very simple make-up looks recently. Last night I took out my Sleek  au naturel palette and here is the look I came up with. It's a very fresh look and so easy to do.

Good afternoon! I recorded a May/June favourites video last night. It's currently being uploaded to my youtube so while I wait I thought I would do a post on the products featured in my video.

My teeny tiny 'away from home' lipstick collection

'Her hair is Harlow gold, her lips sweet surprise'

As my time in Madrid is drawing to a close I've been preparing for my departure by packing my make-up. I am a great believer in forward planning as my father calls it. It was a great idea but one that wasn't thought out as I was soon searching for a certain lipstick or concealer and most of the stuff ended up on my dressing table once again.
My lipstick collection is quite manageable as I only have twelve  with me at the moment, four of which I actually picked up here in Madrid from The Body Shop and KIKO.

KIKO Cleansing Face Brush

Back in March I tried out KIKO for the first time. I have heard so much about cleansing brushes especially the Clarisonic brushes but they are way out of my budget at the moment anyway. This brush doesn't use  batteries which is why it is so cheap - €5.90

My face primers

My face primers are a mixture of three products that come from various points along the price scale.
Lilly Cole Pearl Radiance Primer (15ml) retails at €20  from The Body Shop.
Essence My Base  (20ml) retails  at the lower end of the scale and will cost you  €4.79 and  That Gal  (20ml) by Benefit is the priciest of all three, selling at €31.

My make-up bases and primers

Since moving to Madrid I´ve found that it´s almost impossible to venture out into this heat without wearing eye-shadow primer. I´ve gone without a few
times and it wasn´t long before my eye-shadow was no longer on my eye lids!
I have a tiny selection of primers but they serve me well.

Catrice : Genius in a bottle

Genius in a bottle

Catrice is a brand that I've been using for years. It's a European brand and can often be found in Penneys/Primark, Superdrug, Boots and the like.
I don't have that many Catrice polishes here with me in Madrid, I  left most of them at home. Most of my Catrice polishes are pastels. When looking at the bottle you can see a glorious mixture of bronze, gold and green and a hint of blue. I had an inkling that the colour  wouldn't turn out exactly like this once it was applied to my nails and I was right.

My eye-shadow palettes

Hello! I thought I would share my current eye shadow palette collection with you. I am a neutral colour girl at heart. I use my Naked palettes daily but I also have a lot of shimmer and eye popping colours  for when I am feeling that  bit more daring  with my make-up.

Review : KIKO Natural Cellulose Cleansing Sponges

''Set of 2 natural cellulose sponges for cleansing the face and removing face masks.

The soft, porous surface allows you to effectively remove traces of make up and mask residue, performing an effective exfoliant massage at the same time.''

Last March I purchased these cleansing sponges from KIKO. They are cellulose sponges -  cellulose is made from plant pulp. They are springy sponges and feel completely soft on the skin.

My thoughts on : Weightloss, clearer skin and mental health

Good afternoon guys, I'd like to start off this post by explaining to you that I am writing this with only the best of intentions, I am not out to criticize your ways of eating or anything like that or to make out that I am superior as I no longer eat dairy and meat. I am writing this post because I want to share my experience and hopefully help you out in some way.
I know that vegans have a name for being pushy and I certainly agree with this. Most of them are and most vegans aren't even healthy. Yup thats right - being vegan or vegetarian does not automatically mean you are the picture of  health. There are many types of Vegans but I'll talk about that later.
I ate a typical Irish (Western world) diet for 22 years - dairy and meat on a daily basis. For the majority of those 22 years I was plagued with flu's, sinus problems and carried excess weight. I had low energy in my teens due to the fact that I was eating utter trash everyday for lunch. My low energy level lead to low self esteem and instead of dealing with my problems I brushed them under the carpet whilst burying myself under my blankets  for the most of my time when I wasn't in school.

Movie review : The Big Wedding

Yesterday I found myself with nothing to do and I was feeling a bit down so I decided to go to the cinema. The only movie that was on  around the time I got to the cinema was 'The Big Wedding.'

Too Faced : Sneak peek at the Romantic eye palette

I discovered Too Faced make-up when I was having a nosey around Sephora the other day. I didn't know anything about the brand or the product I was looking at but I decided to try it out and I am thrilled that I did!

Art is the weapon

Hello! I thought I would show you some pictures I snapped over the weekend. My weekend felt like it went on for ever, I think it's because it is sunny here until 8:30 pm. There is a great stretch in the evening as my mother would say! On Saturday we visited the book shop adjacent to the National Art museum in Madrid. I haven't actually gone into this museum yet, I am waiting until my extremely talented 17 year old artist sister visits me in June.

Moving away from home

On the 20th  of August  2012, I set off for Madrid with Craig. I had been so busy in the months and days up to the big move that it hadn't really sunk in that I was actually leaving home. The night before we left I  wasn't feeling sad or excited,  a weird calmness had washed over me. But as soon as my alarm went off that morning I honestly wished I could have stopped time just for a little while so I could simply stop. Stop worrying about finding a job, worrying about how my family would be feeling, worrying about the final result of my thesis and all the other fears that had awoken in my mind that morning.

Nails of the day Essence Sweet Surprise and Unexpected Galaxy

Essence  Colour&Change in 'Sweet Surprise' and 'Unexpected Galaxy' (step1) €2.45 each.

I love these colours so much. Sweet Surprise is a metallic pink, it's so glam and I was happy with the results after just one coat but it does chip easily so a second coat is necessary. Unexpected Galaxy is an intense metallic  silver/blue. If you use the special step 2 nail polish you can do some nail art, that is the whole point of these polishes but I just like wearing the polish like this for now. I think you can use a normal top coat
polish to get the  art design effect, I'll try this out soon.

KIKO 131 Lipstick - Favourite lipstick for Spring

Hey guys Spring has finally arrived in Madrid. It was 26 degrees yesterday and today so I am so thrilled to finally ditch my jeans and open up my Spring/Summer wardrobe for good. I've been busy with work and  preparing for a 10k run so I haven't had ,much time to blog but I am back with a review of my favourite lipstick for Spring. I only recently got to try out KIKO products as they aren't on sale in Ireland. They are really starting to grow on me.

Day trip to Aranjuez

Hello! Last Friday I went to the town Aranjuez with two of my friends. It was quite a dull day weather wise but a fun day nonetheless. I knew I wanted to return there as I was eager to do some walking in the hills outside of the town. Two days later I returned with Craig, we were armed with lots of fruit and reading to take on the hills.

Part two of my journey

Good afternoon guys! I took a little break from blogging over Easter. I was off for a total of eight days and I wanted to spend most of this away from the computer. I finish work at around 8 pm on most days so having so much free time was amazing.
This post is going to be about my preparation for moving to Madrid. I wanted to get as many things as I could organised before I went over there. In between studying and writing my thesis, I spent my remaining time  looking up accommodation, essential  legal documents and potential jobs. As expected, however, many of the important things couldn't be sorted until I was on Spanish soil.

Moving to Madrid.

Hey folks! I think its  about  time that I share my experience of life in the Spanish capital  with you all.
This will be the first of a couple of post, as I have been here for quite a few months now there are many topics I'd like to cover with you - preparing for the move, moving, looking for work, a house etc!
I want these series of posts to be as informative as possible as  there are so many things to consider when moving  to Madrid or wherever you are planning to go.
